Niko knew that she wasn't really running a fever, he was just using an expression. "Well, at least you have your health." he said to Abbi, before turning to Reza "I, on the other hand, have been spending many late nights on the holonet, gaming my brains out. I have been getting real envious of this one guy in class, though."

"Really?" Abbi asked through a mouthful of food. Some meatball dribbled down her chin, and she hastily put it back in her mouth, licking her fingers. "Why?"

"Abbi..." Reza said, taking a bite of her food. "Don't eat and talk at the same time. It's impolite and offends people. We don't want to hurt someone's feelings. It'd be mean." SHe smiled. "So why are you envious of this guy?"

Niko was hesitant to reply. He didn't want to burden his best friend with his personal problems like her old friend Sarai used to. After opening and closing his mouth a few times and uttering a few ums, he managed to reply.
"It's just that he and his girl are in the same classroom." he said looking down at the table and rapping his knuckles on it "Every time we take a break in the middle of class, they walk outside with their hands locked together. And even though I'm sure they're in violation of some sort of campus decency code, nine times out of ten they sit on the bench and start smooching."

Deej looked at Ellie and her girlfriend. "Listen, this is really flattering and all, but I really don't think I'll be driving for awhile...this thing would just sit here and rot! And I'd get too nervous and crash it into something, I'm sure...I mean really, can't you keep it until you get your license back?" he asked her politely
"That probably won't be for awhile. And when I do, I can just get my mom to get me a newer one...just take it! Really, its okay, it can be an extra for everyone anyways! I know Miss R's car screws up sometimes." Ellie said
"No, really-"
"Oh just take it!" Ellie exclaimed with a laugh

"Um... why don't you tell a teacher or something?" Reza asked. "Then they'd get in trouble or something. Who cares if your a snitch and a back-stabbing weasle with no personal life so you have to ruin others. It's fun! Look at me. I'm hyper and energatic and Loads of people hate me!"

Abbi gave a strained grin. "Okay, Reza, it's fine, we understand," she said, giving her friend a pat on the arm. She turned to Niko. "You could always look for girls outside your year," she pointed out. "It'll work out."

Niko rolled his eyes. To him, Reza's advice was incompatable with his lifestyle and personality. But at least she was trying, that showed that she cared. Letting out a sigh, he turned back to Abbi "I don't know. I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever going to find the right girl." he lamented "And I can't escape it. Every time I turn on a holovid or read a fic on the net I see love. Everyone else's life always seems so perfect and serendipitous. I haven't even had a bad relationship that was purely physical and I almost wish I had."
In his mind, he was starting to cross the line so Niko just contained his comments after that. "Ah what am I saying here?" he forced himself to laugh convincingly "You're the girl for me, Abbi. Just the two of us together and Reza makes three. I'll be all right." In the back of his mind he knew Abbi wasn't likely to believe him if that force power of her's kicked in.

Abbi kept her face carefully composed as she worked out the meaning of Niko's last comment. Ah... oh. She tried not to be surprised, remembering that everybody wanted That once in a while. She felt her cheeks heating up anyway.
There were a number of smart comebacks she could've tried, but none of them seemed any appropriate. She cursed her age, wishing she could have been old enough to understand better. She wondered inwardly if she should suggest a HoloNet dating service (and crushed that thought immediately after remembering a story about a Hutt posing as a human bellydancer) or just pretend she never understood what Niko meant.
It was awkward for both of them, so she chose the latter. She bit down her I'm sure it'll work out and said instead, "Well, me and Reza need boyfriends, too, so don't feel bad. At least you're not falling in love with cartoon characters..." Or looking at a character's hawt butt with the camera...

"Excuse me? I'm sorry, But I don't need anyone but my friends. A boyfriend would ruin me. If he gets in trouble or something i'd try to help him and not myself. So I'm sorry if I have no idea how to do this stuff. If I were you I'd ask me on only violent stuff, not love or anything like that." She stuck out her toungue in disgust. She turned to Abbi.
"And I am not in love with that character, I'm being funny! You should see how people reply to my commets. They're all laughing." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Thank you, very much."

Abbi grinned, and was about to say something when her comlink vibrated in her pocket. She stood up. "Be right back," she said, and walked outside of the cafe.
She brought the comlink to her lips. "Suc'cuy?"
It was her mom. "Abbi, I have to come get you now. The ight plan changed at the last minute... but I guess that's the way it is."
Abbi's jaw dropped. "But... I haven't even packed!"
"I already did it for you. Say bye to your friends, I'm three minutes away."
"But--"
"Hurry, we can't be late."
Abbi stuffed the comlink and walked back into the cafe, frowning. "I have to go," she said carefully. "Um, I'll call you guys later, okay?"

"What!? You're leaving me with that thingh!?" She pointed at Nico. "I don't even know what he is! And I it's boring without you! Why? Where are youi going? Don't tell me you're leaving already! No! I won't let you!"
She stood up and noticed people looking at her.
"Abz, You can't leave. How long will you be gone? I'm sure I can fit in a carry on bag. Like luggage or something."

Abbi hugged her. "Yeah, I'm gonna miss you. Watch the news for funny stuff."
She gave Niko a mock-salute. "Cya, man."
She couldn't wait any more. She grabbed her bag and left, jogging towards the front of the campus. Her mom was already waiting for her.
