Sister Ethea Seer actually had a moderate childhood, but her parents were very crazy, like her...but in the sensee that they didn't care what they did, which Ethea always hated...she at first was normal, though, but after she slept with Kevin Smith one night, she was ashamed of herself and became a nun...she proceeded to do many things, such as locking her athiest parents up in their houses and preaching to them endlessly, and going around Hollywood and Edgemont Hospital preaching to everyone she can find.

Then his mother died in a car accident involving a drunk driver, and Kevin's father was never quite the same after that. Kevin's dad just buried himself in his work, leaving the care of Kevin to his sister (who is Kevin's Aunt Marge) and the schoolteachers for the most part.

Shortly after Kevin graduated from college, his father died from an overdose of drinking and drugs, and Kevin inherited everything. Kevin gradually got used to it, but at first it was almost too much for him to handle, being rich and having so much to deal with. So that's when he began to look to women for comfort and as a means of escape, and he ultimately had affairs with two of them--Eugenia and Ethea, who became pregnant with his daughters.

Kevin has shown some fatherly interest in his daughters, providing money for them when he could, although he has problems with his ex's--and thoughts of them coming back to torment him haunt him continually.

These days, one of the things he does is run Edgemort hospital, a place that his father had bought and taken responsibility for just before he died. So now... Kevin is the owner/administrator of it.
