Ridley Scotts Blade Runner is one of my favourite films, and my favourite science-fiction film ;D Everything about it i just love, especially the themes. Most notabley what it means to be human. As well as that, Ridley Scotts vision of a not too distant future L.A. is both frightening and beautiful. On top of all this theres the overall feel to the film, noirish and very dark, mostly down to the magnificant score by Vangelis, which i own on 3-disc anniversary edition and listen to on a regular basis and lets not forget its got Star Wars' own Harrison Ford, in what i consider to be his best performance. Most people, me included, dont like it much on first view, but after rewatching it several times it has become an absolute favourite of mine. Now, i am down to reading the Philip K. Dick novel upon which it was based "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" Im only a few chapters in and i can already tell its fairly different to the film, but the main themes and characters are still there, so im hoping i warm to it as much as i did Scotts adaptation Anyone else seen the film or read the book? if so, what are your thoughts and/or opinions on it? please, discuss.............
