Luke Skywalker... Do you like him? Do you love him? Do you hate him? Does he annoy you? Or are you stuck in the middle, indifferent to him? Well whatever way you feel about the farmboy turned Jedi, please state it here! And remember to give a reason! LET THE DEBATE BEGIN!

I know Rain hates him but here's my two cents:
When I first saw the SW movies(waaaaay back in like 1997-1998, not too long before TPM), I loved Luke. The typical hero, I really did adore the character for a good several years! But then....maybe it was when I got more into SW past the films, like into books and games, I don't know I recognized him as a big character, but my love for him severely died down. Now, I go from just being meh on him to hating him.
Today, I feel he's worthless. Maybe it was because in the end, I found out he just wasn't a complex character. Just your typical hero who can be annoying.

Yes. He is souch a plain, bland and nagging character, A few good writers out there actually make him likeable, but nothinmg can change my opinion of him. Once and annoying little farmboy brat, always an annoying little farmboy brat!

Hmmmmm. And the jedi i remember you said you liked, like that one from the PT with the blue squid like head (whose name i purposely forget:P), wow, she was such a colourful and complex character. Im joking obv, cause she was only small lol but seriously, Luke is my favourite jedi along with Yoda and Obi-Wan. Fair enough, hes not the most complex character, and at first he can be annoying. But he gets better as the OT (the best, Rain) goes on. And HE is the one who helps redeem his father. Let Kit fecking Fisto try that little trick Ryan Oh, and i find it funny how someone who likes Jar-Jar Binks can call Luke Skywalker annoying *Laughing emote with so much laughing it has yet to be created*

If I am not mistaken, Aayla had much more story and depth than luke, not to mention much more sex appeal. And on TRF she got Mrs Star Wars 2008! And as for Kit, he too is much more popular, has much more story and is way more awesome.
Face it... Luke sucks. End of. And Anakin redeemed himself.
"But you'll die!"
"Nothing can stop that now. And thank God cause I would hate to live with a nagging son like you!" *dies*

I have to agree on this - Ayla had more depth than Luke.
I never had a problem with the luke leia duo in the movies. I honestly never did. But then when the books started coming out... I slowly had the growing impression that I'd love to choke them both. In part because they were everywhere. Oddly though even if some other characters recieved a similar pervasivity I never had said urge. Han, Lando, Wedge. I still like those characters. Because as opposed to the princess and the farmboy they are well done. I'd love them to introduce a lot more characters, but I can't have everything. Which is probably one of the reasons I often find myself liking the short starwars stories -like the various tales from (insert name here cantina for instance).
Those stories generally have completely new characters.

Sure he didn't know she was his twin but still....I wonder what Lucas was thinking. And I love the Tales from (Place) story.

Star Wars is nothing unless you can see past the images.
