For the Americans here(not singling out any foreign people like Rain, Kitty, Condor, MNDF, etc etc.)....and this may be a heated topic but here at AX lets keep it clean please.....
What party do you find yourself favoring? Or sharing beliefs with?
Honestly, for years, I found myself liking how the Republicans do things...I still do....but I find myself agreeing with Democrats on some things, and I hate the petty Republican vs. Democrat wars. Like now, the Republicans are so bitter about having a Democratic president(Obama) so they are criticizing every little stupid thing, and the Democrats are getting way too gung ho with their power....
I like both parties, and feel things need to be balanced....but in times where the entire world's economy is in a horrid state, it is a time to band together and stop this political fighting.

Politics keep the country on par with the other countries, BUT all this infighting better freaking stop or we'll have WW3 on our hands because America told the British Ambassador or something that he smells funny. I honestly think it's time to pull together and do the best we can instead of blackmailing, framing, etc.
Corrupt governments are just baaaaad. Look at Hitler: he dead.
I'm a moderate--I have personal beliefs about the way things should be run, but I don't favor red over blue. It's like saying 'you like Mountain Dew or Gears of War better?'

If I had to choose I would say Democrat but only for Mr Obama. There are many power hungry lunatics among the dmeocrats, eg Hilary Clinton. And with the Republicans, well we have all seen how much George Bush screwed up America, and gave it a bad image for the rest of the world. Then the was John McCain who wanted to keep the war in Iraq ongoing.
And I agree. Infighting needs to stop. Politicians are being childish and babbling over small things, when if ithey worked together they could end the recession.

To be honest - I don't understand the US political scene. I just kinda have the feeling from the media that republicans are the more conservative range right group (which is odd since it goes against what the word republican stands for) and the democrats are more center right with more liberal tendencies. Correct?
I guess I just prefer multiparty systems. Where you also have a right and left group, but the various members of each group tend to be more varied.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up, and I agree....I don't think one or the other party should have 100% control, it needs to be balanced. Both parties have good and bad qualities.

This thread is interesting. I figure I will just give my two cents on the subject.
For most of my life, I actually believed that the Republicans were the best party out there, and that the Democrats were just evil-doers who were just trying to corrupt the country and take it over. But in recent years, I am finding that there are many Democrats out there who are intelligent, and I find myself agreeing with some of the things that the Democrats say and think, although not all.
Frankly, when you get right down to it, both the Republican and Democratic parties are correct about some things, but they are also wrong about some things. That is what you're going to get with any opposing group--both sides stand for something, and they hate the other group.
I dunno maybe it would help if people wouldn't automatically jump the gun and think that someone from the opposing party is just AWFUL until they get to know the person or see what they're going to do.

I think a dual system would be much better. But then that would just cause even more bickering and deliberating.
