So yeah, I was thinking about the Mandalorian War with the Republic, and I was thinking about one of the war stories that Canderous told Revan on the Ebon Hawk in Kotor.
You know the one, where he tells about how the Republic had tried to place troops in the homes of civilians, thinking the Mandalorians would not attack, but the Mandalorians attacked thinking that the Republic was using women and children as "dishonorable shields" and that they were "hiding behind the weak", or something like that?
Well, what're your thoughts/opinions on this? Of course we all know the Mandalorians were ruthless and aggressive. But, what do you think of what the Republic did? Was it their fault that the civilian lives were lost? Was the Republic dense and stupid for doing that, or did they just not know their enemy well enough?
Discuss.

They did something that if done in a real life situation would be inexcusable. The Mandalorians weren't killign civilians (at least not large numbers) until the republic did that, so the lives are on there hands. Basically you don't put a high priority target where the collateral damage can effect a civilian population
