here are some of the poems I've done of late.
A prison of my mind
I sit in a grey cell of apathy
The walls are bland and emotions are absent
On the right is a window looking out on a world of light
Emotions are free there and the land is bathed in light
But bars block the window and I can not pass
On the left another window sits looking on a dark land
everything is a constant night with no stars or moon
The only light comes from the fires that rage on eternal
But this window is not barred and I may pass through
Do I leave?
Try for the light?
Or pass into the dark?
I am trapped in a prison of my mind
I am trapped in eternal apathy
Do I try hard as I can for the light?
Or pass easily forever into the dark?
I know not
So I sit and wait
In my prison of apathy
The Hunter
The moons light flows between the interlocking branches of the trees
The stars shine eternally bright in the sky of black velvet
The grass rustles softly underneath my feet the dew sparkling like gems
And forever on I run
After the wolf
After the deer
I chase the wild animals
Through out the woods
The bows string bites into my hand and my arm shakes slightly
The arrow fly’s out cutting my fingers on its deadly course
As the string twangs the deer turns and the arrow forever darkens its eyes
And forever on I run
After the wolf
After the deer
I chase the wild animals
Through out the woods
For I am the hunter
And I provide for my kin
I follow the crimson stained path that the deer has left behind it
I reach its final place of rest, its blood stains the ground and its eyes are dark
I reach for my knife and begin my bloody, but essential work
And forever on I run
After the wolf
After the deer
I chase the wild animals
Through out the woods
For I am the hunter
And I provide for my kin
For they need food
No matter what it costs me
I slit the deer’s belly, and clear out its inside the ground now littered in guts
I carve the deer up slowly, staining the ground deeper and deeper red
I hate my task but it must be done, for the good of others I die inside.
My Cell
Our Effect
We feel ourselves entitled
We own everything
We don’t think of the future
We destroy that which we need
But we aren’t the only ones who suffer
We have brought on a time of death
When we work to make life easier for us
We kill the other creatures of Earth
Do we stop this, change our ways?
Or keep at it until where alone?
And soon after we die off as well?
Do we destroy ourselves and all else?
For this is the path that we walk now
Mo one thinks for the future of Earth
Even those who work for a “green” earth
Cause damage with unthinking acts
Our world dies we die
We die our world lives on
The world can live with out us
And with out a change will die with us
So what do we do?
Force a change?
Save our world through self sacrifice?
Or do we carry on
Destroying Earth and Dooming ourselves
Earth and Man
the Earth cracks
My skin is cut
Fire gushes from the Earth
Hot blood flows from my veins
Earth
Man
Are we so different
No we are one and the same
What we do to the world
We do to ourselves
Crack the crust
And cut the skin
Burn the trees
And sear the hair
Poison the seas
And poison the blood
It fails
We fall
The Earth stands eternal
and we stand on it

My Cell
I sit alone in a dark cell
I can’t see its limits for the dark is total
And when I yell my voice echoes endlessly
I fear
I fear the dark
But even more so
The light that may be
With sudden strength I stand
And I begin to walk with long strides
My fear subsides and I am full of energy
I wander
Endlessly through the dark
My muscles tire
And my head slumps
I sit once again ending my wandering
I wonder if I will ever leave
Or if when I do my heart can stand the light
The light at the edge
The light of life
The light of death
That will banish apathy
I can’t see its limits for the dark is total
And when I yell my voice echoes endlessly
I fear
I fear the dark
But even more so
The light that may be
With sudden strength I stand
And I begin to walk with long strides
