Ok well this thread pops up on in board related to Star Wars eventually (and sometimes on ones not related to star wars...) and it wasn't here yet so I figured I would make it 
anyway I think it can be agreed that the Xwing trumps the original Tie Fighter with the Xwings pilots hands tied together. So lets discuss the Tie Interceptor and the Tie Defender as well.
Well with the Xwing verse the Tie Interceptor it really depends on the interceptor pilot, if he can take advantage of the speed and maneuverability of the interceptor the Xwing should never get a chance to bring its greater fire power to bear, adn its sheilds will be constantly worn down until the ship is destroyed. But if the Tie pilots makes a mistake or if the Xwing pilot out thinks him (both very very common) the interceptor is gone. Not only that but if its a squad verse squad thing teh Xwing squad is going to come out on top because the Interceptor just doesn't haev enough fire power and with that number of ships in the air there going to stray into some ones cross hairs sometime.
So one on one Interceptor, in squads Xwing (how often is there a 1v1 battle
)
as for the defender, it is better then the Xwing in almost every way, more fire power more maneuverability and it has the added benefit of being smaller (that may not sound like much but in a fight it makes a big difference) if its fighting an XJwing it will be a little closer but even then the Defender is just a better fighter. Theres a reason these things cost so much, there damn good.
anyway what are you're guy's views on the matter, do we have any imperial fan boys out there with a essay on why the Interceptor is better? Or any life long rebels with a speech on the glories of the Xwing?
