Here is a thread to discuss all the Batman movies from 1989-present!!!!
I am a huge fan of Batman, and was thrilled when I saw the four movies from Tim Burton and Joel whats-his-name about ten years ago. Batman Returns was a little creepy, but Catwoman being in it made up for it.
I was so happy when Christian Nolan decided to do a new Batman movie series, starting with Batman Begins. It was GREAT, and I can't wait until The Dark Knight is released(too bad about Heath Ledger though).

I cant wait for Dark Knight! It looks awesome and I'm sure it will be a fitting tribute to Heath (RIP).

Christopher Nolan has done a great job at reinventing the Batman series after Joel Schumacher F'ed it up with two camp disaster movies. Tim Burtons two were brilliant and gothic. Nolan has succeeded in creating a more realistic batman universe, thats what makes them so popular as they are watched and loved by a wider audience now for that reason. Christian Bale is good as batman, but no one beats Michael Keaton. He portrayed the two sides brilliantly, the tortured soul of Bruce Wayne especially. Heath Ledgers performance was epic, and he deserves to win the oscar. But theres still something about Nicholsons that creeps me out much more. But the creepiness isnt all that matters of course, Ledgers characterisation was much more complex despite his joker not having a full backstory, like nicholsons. This is a testament to how good a job Ledger actually did with the character. In short, Burton captured the feeling of the comics brilliantly with Batman (My favourite) and Batman Returns. Schumacher made two camp popcorn flicks which i despise (but still own on DVD ) and now Nolan has come along and saved us all with two brilliant films which suggest that as long as he is at the helm, batman is here to stay. He'res hoping he does at least one more......

I enjoyed Batman Forever and Batman & Robin....I think they actually aren't bad movies, not at all. BUT, out of that film series, I think the Tim Burton films were better....I love Michelle as Catwoman! However, Christopher Nolan has been better than both of those directors put together. He has re-energized this series, put a realistic tone on it but keeping it Batman, focusing it on Batman(the old movies were very villian-focused), and not totally twisting everything like Burton did(even if it was enjoyable). The Dark Knight was the best movie of 2008!

Burtons are my fave too. But yeah, Nolan has done an amazing job. And i do think TDK was ONE OF the best of 2008. But In Bruges gets my vote

Heath was epic. Totally epic. However it is debatable whether the film would have been that big a success if he hadn't have died. Its harshe, but it increased the films profile greatly.

So curious - am I the only one who was dissapointed with the movie?
The acting was great. The effects were awesome. But the script oh wey oh wey - the script was just plain ugh.
