I think we both know how my opinion is.
I love the whole Gothic'ness of it, its not your average Sci Fi with the well modern design look with lasers, this has got a more violent galaxy where humans battle dark creaters and even themselfs in the name of Gods.
My favorite race has to be Imperial Guard, even if they are humans, they are the backbone of the Imperium.

I love the warhammer universe, its just such a change from all of the other everythings clean and sleek sci fi universes. Not only that but it's ideas are the back bone fo alot fo other universes. Starcraft, FireFly, etc.
Also my favorite race has to be the gaurd becouse there the most human, and probably suffer the much for the Empire. Even though the Tau come a close second due to the fact that there sorta the rebirth of the universe.

^  The Tau are just as evil, or good however you see it, as all the other races in the Warhammer universe. That's another thing I love in it. There's no black and white. Even the forces of chaos, is seen from a certain angle could be called good. What if they really fight against the false emperor. What if they are not corrupted, but decided to throw the oppressor away. |

The "Empire" is probably the best (as in good) side in the War. But still they're evil. (e.g hunting down their own without remorse, merciless slaughter etc.)

I don't know personally i would say that overall the Eldar are the most "good" of the sides. Even though the empire can definatly be seen as good. the evilest are probablly the Necron's though with chaos a close second. The tyranids can't really be considered eil just destructive.

I consider Tyranids, quite literally, a "Wild Card". They're just being natural, albiet very destructive, so they're neutral in my eyes. Not Good or Evil.

true, actually the tyranids probabbly have the best chance of makeing the universe more "good" due to the fact that they could force an allaince between the other races (begins to think of RP idea...)

NO no please no
the truth is, highly placed imperials are not as xenophobic as most of the populations. Yet the population is kept in check with fear.
The imperium would rather say that the eldar set off the tyranid invasion, rather than forge a long term positive relationship with it.
And the thing that I like on Warhammer, is that no one is good nor evil.
Imperium - what it does, is it really necessary for the survival of humanity or not?
Chaos - what if they are indeed fighting against the false emperor, since the true one might be long dead, and the high lords of terra merely control.
Eldar - both a force of salvation as well as damnation
Dark eldar - They themselves forgot why they do what they do (excessive torture when it is not needed for making souls more ripe)
Tau - Saviours or Dictators
Tyranids - strictly neutral
Ork - Once more strictly neutral, they just like fighting - anyone
Necron - They wish to elvove - and they actually did the least bad things until now
etc etc etc etc

I love Warhammer.
Personally the Space Marines are my favourite.

I love Warhammer for its gritty reality; everyone fights everyone. There is even infighting and treason. Its just an exaggerated present.
Also, it has all the awesome technology of a distant-future sci-fi but it keeps projectile weaponry.

She in return will ignore a Dark Eldar's soul when it dies. To them organic life is a form of crop and they are the harvesters of that crop. In essence they are the most evil of all the races due to them wanting the extinguish all life in the galaxy. As for me: I love 40K I've known about it for like 10 years and I've been collecting for the past 5 years. At the moment I have little experience in the TT rules due to none of my friends having armies of their own. But I love to paint the little guys, that's what keeps me in it, is that utter freedom you have in the building and painting of your minis. |

The Eldar naturally have long lives. And since the DE live in the Warp they will live longer than a normal Eldar due to the time warping of the Immaterium. From what I've read about the DE I don't remember any bit about them eating souls. Then again I haven't read the DE Codex...yet.
