How do you actually plan to get the charaters together at first?
Bounty hunter, low society psyker, rebel etc..

There all goign to meet at the Galactic Alliance meeting for various reasons. For the bounty hunters there goign to be hired to attck the GA, the psyker will be hired by a paranoid GA officers to "read" those around him. And the Rebel will be goign to damage teh GA.
Oh and Nell could you edit the post to put thl0stcat's name in the character list?

Of course! I'm trying to make this as player made as possible, I'll make events and give hints ingame as too how you could join up with the others. You can choose wether or not to follow that or do you're own as long as it makes since with the story.

Yeah, sure take inspiration from where you will, just dont be TO obvious about it i.e. don't say "Kane, was the leader of the Brother Hood of Nod on the world Tiber II" or something liek that  . Plus tiberium is an awsome series! |

I'm not sure the crystal would be such a good idea - but why not make it some sort of nanite accident - an accident that let a world be wracked by aggressive all consuming nanites..

exactly and considering that they tend to replicate, they could be harvested for metals as well... They'd strip bare everything they come across, and remake it into copies of themselves. Thus, while they'd be a plague on the world were the accident happened, the fact that they'd probably rework ores, cities and other machinery etc would be very interesting for harvesters  |

True, but I was thinking more along the lines of, 'nanobites infect humans' and 'Nanos turn into horrendus mutagens'.

Ahh sounds sorta liek the replicators from Stargate. But i' not sure abotu haveign a crystal called tiberium but if you wanted you could ahev acrystal that displayed organic features and had uses liek tiberium, even though I think the nanites would be way cooler.
