So we all know what soap oprahs are. I don't really watch them much because they tend to 'overact' a lot, and they really go out of their way to make the entire thing sad.
So... what are your opinions on 'em? Like 'em, hate 'em...?

Okay well, I was kinda raised to believe that soap operas are basically garbage with immoral themes and not worth the brain cells to watch. However, a few months ago I decided to watch a few episodes and clips from "Days of our lives" on YouTube, specifically from the era of the 1980's. And... I found them to be pretty good, actually. They were rather realistic in my opinion, and they dealt with themes and issues that really do occur in the real world.
From what I understand, there are some soaps out there that are not really good, but I have to say that when they're done right, some of them can still be pretty good. So long as they are well-written, well-portrayed, and realistic.

True.
About the only soaps I got in contact were bad ones. I saw part of a Mexican soap once, and one when I was five. I never really thought much of them.

But soap prahs are basically garbage with no values at all. Most of all Venezuelan and such. Of course, with their fame among older people, a lot of TV's decided to make their own. That basically means, that I've absolutely given up on TV.

I'll admit the only ones I'm really fond of were the ones that were on during the 80's. Even then, the only ones I've seen were a few on YouTube.

Believe it or not, I actually like soap operas. At one point, I really hated these things. But in recent years, I have found them to be a bit enlightening. Sure some of the plots are out there and ridiculous(and soaps have had ridiculous and STUPID stories), but I actually consider a couple of them to be some good entertainment on telivision. People say they are stupid, and I so understand why any of you would say that, but I personally have been able to enjoy some of them very much!

The only one I watch is the Australian soap "Home and Away" You watch Home&Away? I still sometimes do, mainly over tea. Days Of Our Lives, I like it alot; Young and Restless, miss it very much since it's now left Aussie free-to-air TV; it was ok though, I've found soaps tend to be the afternoon type of viewing.

Me and soaps have a kind of hate/hate relationship... Sometimes I hate them, other times I hate them more.

I enjoyed great Soap Operas, especially British ones more. I grew up watching Coronation Street with my family. My Grandmother and my mom are big major soap opera fan themselves. I watched couple of British soaps but then I grew fed up with Eastenders because it's storyline starting to get boring for my taste. Though, I started watching Days of Our Lives which now showing on the TV recently. But personally I really enjoyed the Teen Soap Opera called Hollyoaks alot more, most of the actors and actresses are young from ages 14-24 suitable for my tastes.
