As the shuttle doors opened the sweet pungent smell of it's air whirled into the compartment. Yet the smell of the jungle was not the only thing in the air. There was blaster ionisation everywhere, it was almost tangible. Everything seemed to be moving at a crawl, a haze in the air.
And then out of the morning mist a blaster bold sizzled and impacted on the hull next to Ayla's head.
Time flowed normally again and she screamed a battle order.

Reinforcements have come.

Bariss was delighted. Now with Aayla here, they could push back the Sparatist forces.

She wirled around slicing numerous droids and deflecting blaster bolts, decapitating many more.

"Everybody prepeare for a counterattack!"

"Okay sir, I'll dress in something slightly different; what about my men though, they've got the same face as I do and don't you think the gang will be slightly suspicious if eleven men with the same face turn up on their doorstep?"

He wondered why his master had overlooked such an obvious point.

Padme watched the Senate with a concerned gaze, and typed in a request on the small computer attached the the front end of her Senate pod. Her request went unnoticed, however, as hundreds of Senators were trying to do the same thing. She caught Palpatine's gaze from the center podium, and he nodded, whispering into the ear of the Speaker, Mas Ameeda. "The chair recognizes the Senator from the soverign system of Naboo!" the Speaker cried, his loud, booming voice heard even over the uproar Bail had caused with his words. The Senate fell quiet in anticipation of what this Queen-turned-Senator may say in the recent developments.

"Thank you, Speaker," Padmé said formally, and she maneuvered her pod to the center stage, next to Bail. She shot him a warning look, and proceeded on. "My colleague here is only worried about the justifications of assigning sector governors to all planets. While it is good on security measures, Chancellor, you'll be putting many senior military officials into the streets. Is that wise? And what about the men and women of this Senate who don't want it?"

I folded my arms wjilst listening to Padme's words.

"It would not be wise at all Chancellor and you know it!" I shouted when she had finished. I looked around the rotunda, "I know that many of you are thinking the same thing!"

And I did know. There was Mon Mothma and Senator Amidala for a start. Then there was Garm Bel Iblis, Giddean Danu, Chi Eekway and many others...

Obi Wan frowned. He knew Cody was right but had no other choice.

"I know Cody, but we stand more chance than if we are wearing uniform. Besides we will be spread out, maybe confuse the enemy a bit!"

I was a senior clone commander of the 501st Legion, stationed with the Coruscant Homeworld Security on Coruscant; I had popped over to the Senate Building and heard what I thought were genuinely stupid remarks coming from Senator Padmé Amidala, but they were absolutely typical nonetheless. I shook my head then headed of to the local cantina for a drink.

"Alright, sir; but none of the men can meet with me or each other in person, that'll have to be a primary concern if we're to stay undercover."

I really despaired of the Jedi at times, especially the Council. I must admit my true feelings were to just go in there in full battle gear with guns blazing, undercover missions were just not in my line; after all, I was a soldier and *not* a detective.

Anakin was fuming, but he held it in. He knew that yelling right now would only get himself into a lot of trouble that he didn't need. he sighed and left the assembly knowing that palpatine would be out shortly and if he stayed much longer he would end up saying something.

"We need to go to the temple," I said, "Lets go."

As anakin left eh Senate hall his com began to beep. good timing on that he turned the com on "This is Anakin Skywalker" "Anakin" master Windu's voice came from the com "We need to see you down at the council chambers." "yes master I'll be there shortly" what could this be about, I was down there not to long ago. he walked down the long hallways until he eventually was at the council chamber he walked in and saw that most of the council was in session, many of them by the holo network.

"Hello Anakin, we have called you hear so that you can meet you're new padawan" Padawan? "Master I wasn't aware..." "Decided we just have young Skywalker" Yoda spoke from his seat "Not only train your padawan will you, but learn as well will you." Anakin was slightly dumb founded "Masters I could have had a little warning, who... who is my Padawan" Mace Windu smiled "her name is Caelin, and she is waiting for you outside of these chambers. She is very skilled for her age, and very mature. Yet she has had troubles already in her life, but that is not something for me to tell" Yoda spoke next "Grow slightly impatient she does, leave and meet her you should" he motioned towards the door

"Yes masters... I will try to be a good master" He left the chamber and walked out into the main hallways. Across from the door a young girl was leaning against the wall "You must be Caelin" Anakin smiled "I'm Anakin... you're new master" Caelin stood up from the wall and gave a wry smile "You know just cause you're my master doesn't mean I have to like you" Anakin raised an eyebrow "No it doesn't mean you have to, although usually masters and padawans are at least on good terms" he had a slight smile on his face. "ahh that is true, and I never said I did or didn't like you just that I didn't have to like you." she shrugged slightly "The jury is still out on that one"

The Vigilance touched down in a hangar-like zone, on a tarmac near the Jedi Temple, I stepped off the gang-plank with my two "Weequay" minders and eight "Nikto" goons and we then proceeded round to the front of the Temple, hoping we wouldn't be picked up for loitering...

I was currently at Uba IV, briefing my 41st Elite Legion comrades about some new CIS droid; Octupturra combat tri-droids they were called, and I can honestly say I had no idea what to expect in terms of their firepower and offensive/defensive capabilities.

"Right, men; we're here on Uba IV to knock out a CIS garrison, after reports of enemy activity and Ubese collaboration reached Command's ears. The Seps have virus droids, so check your helmet seals and breathing filters. A head shot could release a contaminant of unknown origin, therefore, you've got to real careful when engaging these new droids; we've been sent a description of one by a CIU, right here."

I left the cantina after my customary swill of ale, and popped over to see Thire, my fellow planetary defence force commander, to compare notes; there was, after all, a healthy rivalry going on between us as to who could mount the most efficient defence of Galactic City should the CIS do something REALLY brave, or REALLY Stupid; anyway, we were good friends and I bumped into him upon leaving the local cantina, and because he was going to have a drink, I...went back in with him and had a knocked back a few more...
