 Global Rules
« Thread Started on Dec 12, 2007, 6:58pm »

In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Staff Members.

    General Rules:

  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
  • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
  • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
  • Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For style changes and general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.
  • We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate Proboards community standards. The Proboards team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
  • Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
  • While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant adverts or the sort of 'ooh look, yet another bulletin board' threads. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other boards.
  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  • If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.
  • Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
  • You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
  • You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.
  • We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support boards are a privilege and not a right. A banned customer is still entitled to support from the support system.

Any threads/posts of these types will be deleted.

    Advertising Services and Solicitation

We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitation in signatures is also prohibited. Signatures may have your website URL inside, but if you put in big, bold red letters (which show up quite clearly here) saying ‘Join my Site!’, we will remove it and give you a 20% warning.

You should never give out your password to anyone, and you should not disclose server logins and/or passwords to anyone except through the Proboards support system. We can not take responsibility if you disclose this information to anyone else.

    Links in Sigs

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

  • Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it does not contain coarse language, sexuality, or any male-enhancing stimulants. Trust me, we don’t need to see those. Any violators will be banned.
  • Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
  • A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate Proboards community standards. The Proboards team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards. (Examples include sites about drugs and/or sex.)
  • Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.

    Affiliate Programs

The Affiliate Board at the bottom of Azure-X is for affiliation with Azure-X only. If you see a site you like, PM the member and ask to affiliate. Refrain from asking within the threads. We will not accept sites with sexual content, drugs, or anything violating the Proboards ToS. Sites like that will be reported.

    Signature Size Limits

All signatures should not exceed the following size limits

  • You may have up to 400 characters
  • Do not have more than two images within the signature area
  • For images in signatures: 1 image up to 200 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall. Anything passing this limit will be deleted.
  • Do not put big bold letters as your signature. A font size up to 8, please.

We also have some rules that apply for certain forums:

    Religious Board

  • We will not take bashing of another’s religion and/or race as a minor issue. Those who do this have no place on Azure-X.
  • If you feel other members are taking their discussions too far, please contact Crystal or another Azue-X staff member.
  • Small wars over “my religion is better” will not be tolerated. We will also not tolerate snot-nosed remarks about your own religion and how good it is. Even if you do not believe in God or any form of deity, do not bash people's choice of religion or act like you are superior because you do not follow a religion. For that matter, those who are religious should not act like they are superior to those who do not follow a religion. We are here for discussion, not for mayhem.
  • This is the most closely-watched forum here. We have our reasons. If we get into serious trouble, this board will be turned to Invisible and you shall not be able to post for a month.

    Thanks! – Azure-X staff

    Have fun!

A question please
Is it possible to have sigs, that are 300x200 instead of 200x300?

I guess, yeah. ;) As long as it really isn't super-big or anything, I guess it can work. :)

Nothing more than 500 px in length or width, max. Can't have probaords.com staff suing me for bandwidth problems. O_o

I don't think this would be a problem, since the bandwidth used isn't from the probaords servers.

Remember we use the [*img][*/img] tags that direct it from somewhere else, most often photobucket. Thus the bandwidth used is the imagehosts.
It's different with the avatars, since those are uploaded to the forums though.
